Tracie Mitchell is one of Australia’s leading dance for camera artists and a respected contributor to dance screen networks and festivals both nationally and internationally. Her career as a celebrated choreographer, film director, producer and distributor spans 20 years. Her award winning works have been selected for official screenings worldwide as well as being part of major catalogue collections such as Tanz Museum in Cologne, la Cinémathèque de la Danse in Paris and Australian Centre for the Moving Image in Melbourne.
In Australia Tracie has successfully implemented a number of public exhibitions of dance screen, including creation and direction of the pioneering three-day dance film festival Dance Lumiere for Dancehouse, Melbourne in 1999. In 2001 she was awarded a prestigious Australia Council for the Arts Fellowship to undertake a two-year internationally based research program, and she is soon to complete her PhD from Victoria University where she has been exploring new critical frameworks to describe the unique artform of dance for camera. Tracie is committed to both formal and informal platforms for artist development and has been involved in a number of mentoring initiatives in order to inspire, nurture and share her knowledge and passion for the art of dance on screen. |

Emma is a photo-media artist working in both the still and moving image. In 2008 Emma completed her Honours degree at the National Art School, Sydney and was invited to join the MOP committee, an artist-run initiative in Sydney. She has exhibited in a number of national group exhibitions and held two solo shows. Emma has won several awards and prizes including the Storrier Onslow NAS Paris Studio Residency, the Joel Corrigan Memorial Prize for Photography awarded by Pat Corrigan and in 2009 her work will be included in the National Photographic Portrait Prize and a group show at MOP, Sydney. |

Kate is a video artist, performer and freelance video editor.
In 2007, Kate completed a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Fine Arts with Honours in Time-Based Art at the College of Fine Arts, Sydney. Since then, Kate has exhibited her video work nationally and internationally in cities including Beijing, Sao Paolo, Prato and Brussels.
In addition to her solo practice, Kate maintains a strong, collaborative arts practice with Brown Council, a video/performance ensemble made up of 4 artists. Brown Council’s practice explores the intersections between visual culture, performance art and theatre. In 2009 they won the award for Best Theatre Production at the Adelaide Fringe Festival and they also spent 2 months in residence at Beijing's Red Gate Gallery developing a new performance, 'A Comedy', which premiered at Melbourne's Next Wave festival in 2010.
Kate is also a director of Serial Space, an independent artist-run initiative in Sydney which supports and presents hybrid art projects, performance and adventurous sound. |
