Cinemoves no. 5 marks the end of our 2010 6th ReelDance International Dance on Screen Festival and Tour and will be the final ReelDance event of the year. To celebrate, we have invited exciting emerging artists Patricia Wood and Matt Cornell to curate a program which will showcase new work by local dance on screen artists.

Patricia Wood is a dancer and choreographer is also a recipient of the 2010 CREATEdance residency (funded by Ausdance NSW) and an Australia Council Artstart grant. Matt Cornell is a choreographer, dancer and digital composer and is also a recipient of Jump: A Mentoring Program for Young and Emerging Artists.

Cinemoves No.4 will explore the juntion where choreography meets the screen by focusing on artists whose work crosses the threshold of theatre, screen & installation.

One Friday in June, the Cinemoves Committee: Anton, Narelle Benjamin and Jhuny Boy visited the ReelDance office at CarriageWorks. They hunted through the boxes and as a result created From the Archives. This program will focus on leading New Zealand artists with works from Shona McCullagh, Daniel Belton, Sue Healey & more.


REELDANCE CINEMOVES NO. 2: Meet the Director
Guest Presenter: Tracie Mitchell

ReelDance will be kicking off 2009's Cinemoves circuit with an informal Meet the Director screening. This screening will introduce Tracie Mitchell, ReelDance's new Director and will screen works from Tracie's last 20 years of filmmaking. Tracie will also talk about her vision for the sector.
