FORWARD MOTION

It is a collection of outstanding British screen dance films, accompanied by interviews with artists to contextualise their work. A British Council project co-produced with South East Dance, Forward Motion creates a moving snapshot of Britain’s prolific screen dance industry.

The 2010 International Dance on Screen Festival is proud to launch the ReelDance Moving Image Collection (MIC). MIC is a unique educational and culturally important collection that tracks the development of dance on screen in Australia and New Zealand as well as the evolution of ReelDance as an organisation. The 600 titles that make up MIC will be accessible to the public as part of the opening of the festival.

As a homage to the experimentation and the celebration of 'Chance' that was embraced by New York experimental artists Merce Cunningham and John Cage. Out of the Hat is a non-curated program of screenings, where titles, ten minutes maximum in length are literally pulled out of a hat by our guest compère and screened for a public viewing.
