SEND THE CAMERAS OUT Program Duration: 90 minutes
9 artists were given 1 month each to respond to the question 'What is Dance on Screen?'
Last year marked the beginning of a 3 year project aimed at creating opportunities for Indigenous dance makers, editors and composers to engage with making dance for screen works. Each artist was asked to work independently from the others; the dancers to film dance in the environment in which they live, work or play; the editors to assemble the shot footage into 6 minute videos and the composers to make sound in response to the cut images. As part of the ReelDance 2010 Festival all nine artists come together in Sydney to view the results of the project.
The 9 contributing artists in 2010 are:
Director/Choreographers: Marilyn Miller, Vicky Van Hout and Deon Hastie Editors: Cameron Goold, Chiara Williams, Naretha Williams Composers: Cameron Goold, Jardine Kiwat, Grayson Rotamah
